Disney Photopass, Seaworld Photokey or My Universal Photos. Theme Parks Photo Packages which one is “Worth It”?

If your a theme park lover like me you have been considering if for your next vacation or trip you should get a photo package. Photo packages bring you the oportunity to get ride photos and pictures with your family and friends around the park. But everything comes with a price and this packages aren’t cheap and sometimes have to be cut of the budget.

So here I’ll give you details about each of the most recognize theme parks in Orlando and prices that come with it.

Disney Photopass Memory Maker

The photo package that Disney offers in Orlando is one of the most complete when it comes to theme parks. It gives you unlimited digital downloads to your smartphone or laptop from the pictures taken by the Disney Photographers, Ride Photo, Ride Video or Character meet and greet.

The photopass gives you access to photos in each of the 4 Main Parks and the 2 Waterparks. The photopass will be activated the first day of use and it will last till the end of your Disney trip. With the My Disney Experience App you can see on the map of each park where the photopass cast members can be found and what attractions have photos.

Bonus: The pictures taken by Photo Pass Cast Members sometimes include Magic Shots. In these photos the cast members ask you to do pose some sort of way and later add an animation to your picture.

Animal Kingdom’s Magic Shot

Disney Photopass Memory Maker is priced at $169 if you buy it up to 3 days in advance. Or $199 for inmediate access.

Seaworld Parks

Seaworld Orlando Photokey gives you access for one day to digital copies of your ride photos and front entrance pictures.

Locations are:

  • Adventure Photo
  • Manta Photo
  • Journey to Atlantis Photo
  • Shamu Express Photo
  • Shark’s Green Screen Photo
  • Seasonal and character photos

Seaworld Photokey is priced currently at $70 online.

I have bought Seaworld Photokey in 2 ocassions and in my opinion unless you are doing a Animal Encounter or Tour with Dolphins, Penguins or other animals the photokey is not worth it.

In an average day you would get around 10 pictures without the tours. But when I did the Close Up Tour I got at least 25 pictures of the Tour and then the ride Photos which made more sense to me to the amount of money spent.

Busch Gardens Tampa

Busch Gardens one day Photokey works the same way as Seaworlds giving you the opportunity to download your digital photos.

Locations include:

  • Adventure Photo
  • Cobra’s Curse Photo
  • Cheetah Hunt Photo
  • Sand Serpent Photo
  • Kumba Photo
  • Flume Photo
  • Sheikra Photo
  • Lory Landing Photo
  • 123 Smile Photo
  • Air Grover

Busch Garden’s Photokey price can vary from the day it is selected. Prices can go from $39 to $49.

In my experience this is a worth package it can be less expensive and it gives you more variety for pictures.

Aquatica Orlando

Aquatica’s Photokey offers you the opportunity of receiving and sharing your digital pictures taken by the in-park photo team.

Aquatica’s Photokey is priced at $39 per day.

My experience with this package was different I don’t know if it has changed. In my case I visit on summer of 2018, they gave me a Photokey but the photographer around the park each had a paper code that they photograph before and then gave it to you after the photo was taken. At the end off the day I had to take to paper to the picture desk and the would add them to the photokey.

I spent all the day at the park and only had my picture taken in 2 locations. Personally I was expecting a little more so at the end of the day the offered me a refund.

Universal Studios & Island of Adventure

In Universal Studios Orlando and Island of Adventure you can buy My Universal Photo Package for 1 or 3 days. It allows you to have unlimited downloads of your Ride Photos and in-park pictures.

One day package is priced at $69.99

3 day Package is priced at $89.99

There also is Volcano Bay One day package for $39.99

I personally have tried the Volcano Bay package and consider it worth it. Not only because you get ride photo but because in the park there are 4 totems in which you can take pictures also.

So in my opinion if you are going to the 3 Parks definitely get the 3 day package you are getting your money’s worth and in the One Day Volcano Package. But for the One Day Package in the other parks is just to much money for less photo oportunities.

So there you have it guys. Obviously every vacation is different and every family has there own prefrence and things can vary. But the most important thing always is to have fun and make memories!!
